Hair tells a story. It exists at a rare and powerful crossroads between personal space and public space. The hair choices people make are overt representations of their identity, and they are shared at the discretion of each individual. The story my hair tells is one of freedom and self-liberation. My hair choices embody my realization of independence, and my willingness to display my honest, unfiltered, authentic self. It is a promise to myself that I will not only embrace the world around me, but also embrace myself as part of that world, and hope that the world embraces me back for exactly who I am.
