November 14, in Gerlinger Lounge.
Since VSA's main goal this year is to reach out to the community, Jantina Clifford, whose daughter participates in VSA's bi-weekly kids program, was the guest speaker during the fall reception. For the past three years, VSA members have reached out to Clifford, her daughter, and other local residents in the spirit of good community relations. She expressed her gratitude towards VSA for the development of this program and hopes to participate in other VSA activities during the year. In addition, the VSA executive team members asked attendees in the audience to participate in a skit re-enacting a famous Vietnamese fable of how tigers get their stripes. The audience included a good mix of faculty members, administrators, and students from UO and Oregon State University in Corvallis. Cake and refreshments were served throughout the evening. |
