Wednesday, February 13th, 2002, 6pm Asian Pacific American Student Union (APASU) presented ?My Own Story,? an unforgettable evening of autobiographical performances & monologues directed by LA based and critically acclaimed performance artist Alex Luu. The show will feature UO students performing autobiographical stories that deal with themes such as racism, cultural identity, family dynamics, and claiming one?s voice in a world where stories and experiences of people of color are mostly stereotyped and/or ignored. Coming off a five and a half week intensive workshop facilitated by Luu, ?My Own Story? was hilarious, poignant, and ultimately empowering. |
